Welcome

to the debut of my website and blog!

A lot of work went into this and many thanks are in order.

Thank you to Lewis Media Group for developing an awesome website for me, and to Jennifer for helping me navigate through this painful process of learning about all the techy stuff.

Thank you to Laney Bliss for the photography work you did and making my image a presentable one for the whole world to see.

To my friends and family, thank you to Denise, Lana, Cindy, Debbie, Lori and Steve for your support and encouragement with helping me proof and edit my work. Much appreciated.

DREAM BIG!

I did a lot of pondering of what I wanted to write for my first epic blog. The word DREAM kept coming to me so I’m running with it.

Dream. I don’t mean like when you sleep. No, I’m talking about DREAMING BIG!

This world is full of smart, innovative, and beautiful people. I wonder what would happen if a person stepped outside of their safe zone or thought outside of the box? Just imagine, the possibilities are endless.

Dreaming big is what I have been doing lately. Sometimes I wonder what I have gotten myself into. It’s like I’m running by the seat of my pants with my arms up in the air flaying about and me yelling, “I don’t have a clue of what I am doing!” Other times I feel like I hitched a ride on one of those fast European trains with that little inner voice of mine saying, “HANG ON!”

In the span of one and a half years, a lot has happened to me.

I have written a book, written several short stories, and enrolled in several classes online about how to write and publish a book.

I have met a wonderful retired English teacher, Steve, who has taken me under his wing in trying to increase my knowledge about grammar and technical writing. I remember telling him that I wanted to be a good writer. But then I said, “Good writer? No. Wait! I’m dreaming big. I want to be a great writer!” He’s doing the best he can with what he has to work with. Hahaha…

Social media was a huge hurdle that I reluctantly climbed to the top and then flipped my body over, only to fall smack into another abyss of lingual and technical paraphernalia. OH MY GOSH! All because I need to have a ‘platform’ as an author.

I have to laugh at myself, a lot, because I have always prided myself in not being fully immersed into the social media ring. I was happy with my little Facebook account with a small following of about one hundred friends and family. But now I have a Facebook author page, Instagram, Twitter and Pinterest accounts. Whew! This is a lot.

The upside of the whole social media thing is that I have met a lot of amazing people from all walks of life around the world. I love doing this.

These are just some of the amazing things I have experienced so far. I’m so glad that I took a leap of faith off the ledge of doubt and fear. My life is not going to be about regrets.

T.S. Eliot said, “Never regret anything that made you smile. Die with memories, not dreams.”

I hope this wild ride of mine never ends. So, I keep my seat belt cinched up tightly so I can take it all in and not get thrown off to the wayside.

What about you? What have you been wishing or dreaming about? Has fear or doubt been bogging you down? Remember, God made you for so much more.

If you’re on that ledge wavering and the thought of “what if” is plaguing you, then remember this…

Philippians 4:13 – I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
2 Timothy 1:7 – For God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.
Psalm 31:24 – Be strong, and let your heart take courage, all you who wait for the Lord!
Joshua 1:9 – Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.

And, don’t forget. You can do this!

So, set aside the doubts and the fears. Move forward and jump with faith knowing that God has your back. It’s an awesome, epic ride!
